Here is my special dark-portait of Paul McCartney.
One of my all-time favorite musicians.
I restarted this particular portrait about almost 7 times.
Totaled my truck at 2:00 AM this morning,so i took my depression and frustration out with drawing another portrait of Elvis Presley
Tried something out and it totally came out cooler than i expected.... Since Kurt cobain kept journals and wrote in red and blue ink mostly, I did the majority of this portrait in red ink, and i used blue ink too for shading, and check the shading out too! I totally used blue erasable pen for his skin/hair and used very little pencil.and some black magic marker... I'm satisfied with it.
Humphrey Bogart
Here is my pencil portrait tribute to Psychedelic soul singer-songwriter Janis Joplin.
For as long as i can remember, I've always been a fan of his.
I didn't really become a major Elvis listener until about 6 years ago, back whenever i used to paint,
i used to keep it on a commercial-free-Elvis-onlystation while i painted.
I enjoy all of his old movies too and know a couple of his songs on Ukulele and have performed a few of his songs on karaoke and got a standing ovation, lol.
Finished this mixed media portrait of Paul Newman just in time for his (what would have been)92nd birthday today. Found myself rather impressed with how it came out.Drew it with pencil first then outlined it with pen then added shadows with more pencil, smudged in those areas, then put some orange and blue pastels around the smudged shadowed areas (which i've never done before) to give it that blurryish look that it has.(January 26,1925-September 26,2008)
Don't say his name Three times in a row.
My tribute pencil portrait to Mary Tyler Moore.
Rest in peace (December 29, 1936-January 25, 2017)
One of my more difficult portraits I've made.
First I made it from all pencil, but it didn't seem lively enough so to add more contrast i outlined the backround with sharpie and that wasn't doing it either,i was still unsatisfied,so i added blue colored pencil lightly for the shading of his skin, and added green and red pastel to the background and around the rest of the photo to depict both good and evil.
Here is my mixed media dark portrait of Clint Eastwood.
